Peer Support - 'How to do' videos

In 2014, the SBHI Peer Support management team decided to design 'How to do' videos. It was envisaged that these videos would cover numerous topics that were designed to assist members of SBHI in carrying out daily living tasks.

The hope is that they will also empower members of SBHI to do things they may have been previously unable or lacked the necessary knowledge to do.

The first topic chosen was accessing public transport and driving. There are videos on how to use buses (Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann), Luas, and trains (DART, Irish Rail), as well as a number of videos showing the variety of cars and taxis available to disabled drivers.

The videos include individuals who are ambulant, manual wheelchair users, and power wheelchair users in many of the scenarios.

The intention of SBHI Peer Support is to develop and produce more videos in the near future on other useful topics for SBHI members.
